Media freedom is also an essential issue for the protection of human rights. Many times; instances like torture, discrimination, corruption, or abuse of power were presented to the public through the work of investigative journalists. On the other hand, some worrying developments are observed in some countries in terms of violation of media freedom. Many journalists who are deprived of their liberty due to their work are in prisons. In this online panel we will discuss the link between media, democracy, and human rights; how media serves for a better democracy and the obstacles it faces with.
